In the world of digital imaging, Adobe is clearly the most known software producer, managing to surpass any other producer. When you say Adobe you think about Flash Player, Acrobat Reader, but also Photoshop. Adobe Photoshop has a great tradition in the world of image editing applications and it's used by millions and millions of people around the world.

The latest version of the application, CS6, manages to bring some new features and improve the existing ones, while still offering a clean and intuitive interface to the user. In order to install the application, you will first need to browse to the Adobe website and create an account, by entering the email address and a password. At this point, the user will need to download the Adobe Installer and then select the Photoshop product. The installer will start downloading the Photoshop application and will install it automatically, after the downloading process is complete.

After the program is installed and launched, the user will notice that the interface of Photoshop isn't changed dramatically, as most of the controls and features are in the same place as in the older versions. People who have never used Adobe Photoshop before can take advantage of the online help manual, which presents the program's functionality and features down to the smallest detail possible.

By accessing the Image sub-menu in the program's interface, one will be able to easily adjust and correct any photo, by changing its contrast, brightness, saturation and so on. This is done completely automatically, as Photoshop includes an intelligent algorithm which can analyze an image and make the necessary corrections. By accessing the Filter section, the user will be able to apply a large number of filters and effects to an image, for making it more interesting and for bringing a touch of personality to it.

Speaking about image formats, there are numerous supported by Photoshop, including the uncompressed RAW format. After an image has been edited, the user will be able to either save it in one of the large number of formats available or as a web image, as Photoshop includes a special feature for saving photos in a web-optimized mode, which is ideal for publishing photos on any website.

For making it easier and faster to work with the application's functions, Adobe Photoshop includes an advanced keyboard shortcuts feature, which allows the user to configure shortcut keys for almost any program option, thus allowing you to save time and effort.

Pros

It offers support for almost any image format available today, including RAW. Besides that, images can be automatically corrected, using a special algorithm. Furthermore, a large number of effects can be applied to photos and each effect can be fully customized. What's more, the web saving feature allows you to save the images which are optimized for publishing online.

Cons

The program requires a fast computer in order to run optimally. Besides that, first-time users may require some time until they get used to the interface. Adobe Photoshop allows you to edit, correct and fully modify any photo in the most advanced way possible, while offering an intuitive and clean interface.
